Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 31, 1957.

The arms show the patron saint of the church in Olpe, Saint Martin of Tours. The villages in the Amt were historically dependent on the Olpe parish. The arms are based on the seals of the parish from 1669 and 1674.
