Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 4, 1979.

The lion is the lion of the Counts of Veldenz, who ruled the area for many centuries. The wavy bar shows the Glan river, that runs through the municipality. The base shows the letters A U for Amt Ulmet, the historical administrative territory around Ulmet.
