In Grün ein hersehender doppelschwänziger, gekrönter goldener Löwe.
Origin/meaning
The arms show the lion of the Counts of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt, to whom the city belonged since the 15th century. The lion already appeared on the oldest known seal, dating from 1566.
