Origin/meaning
The colours of the arms are taken from the arms of the Counts of Wied and Sayn, to which the area historically belonged. The silver sword is a symbol for the local court that was held until the 19th century. The blue wavy bar is a canting symbol (Bach is river, stream). The bell is the symbol of St. Anthony, the local patron saint and also stands for the St. Antonius chapel. The water mill wheel symbolises the former watermills in the village.
