(de) In Rot auf grünem Boden ein kapellenartiges silbernes Haus mit blauem Dach, aus dessen offenem Tor ein silberner Bach fließt.
Origin/meaning
The arms appear for the first time on the seal of the town from 1590. The arms are canting, showing 'a house on the Zusam river'. All later seals and images have shown the same composition, but the size and shape of the house has differed widely.
The colours also varied until the late 19th century when the above colours were defined. The red and silver are the colours of the State of Augsburg, to which the town historically belonged.
The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925 |
