BAD SALZSCHLIRF

State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Fulda

Wappen von Bad Salzschlirf/Coat of arms (crest) of Bad Salzschlirf
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were designed in 1925, but officially granted on September 3, 1947.

The arms show the different aspects of the local economy; until the late 19th century the town had a mainly agricultural character, symbolised by the plough iron. Nowadays the town is a health resort and spa, which is symbolised by the snake.

Stadler showed the arms in different colours:

Wappen von Bad Salzschlirf/Arms (crest) of Bad Salzschlirf

Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
