Origin/meaning

The arms symbolise that the municipality has a green and agricultural character, symbolised by the oak leaves (forests) and the wheat-ears (agriculture). The colours are taken from the arms of the Counts of Katzenelnbogen and Hessen, to whom the area historically belonged.
