Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted in 2000.

Buschhausen had no own arms. The above arms were designed in 1999.

The division of the arms is taken from the arms of Oberhausen. The base with the plough refers to the former agricultural area. The first half shows an abbey and refers to the former importance of the Essen and Hamborn Abbeys in the reagion. The thongs refer to the more modern industry since the late 19th century. The wavy blue bend symbolises the Emscher river.
