German heraldry:

Selected collector's items from Germany:

EPPERTSHAUSEN

State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Darmstadt-Dieburg (until 1975 Darmstadt)

Wappen von Eppertshausen

Official blazon

(de) Im Blau ein rot-silber geschachteter Schräglinksbalken, begleitet oben von einem nach links schreitenden silbernen Storch mit roter Bewehrung und unten von goldenen Kleeblättern in zwei schräglinken Reihen.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1957.

The bend and the blue colour are derived from the arms of the Groschlag family, the oldest known Lords of the village. The stork and clover leaves ar etaken from the arms of another medieval family, the Wasen family, which also had some possessions in the area. As the species of bird in the original family arms was not clear, it was decided to use a stork, as there also has been a stork nest in the village for a long time.
