Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1957.

The bend and the blue colour are derived from the arms of the Groschlag family, the oldest known Lords of the village. The stork and clover leaves ar etaken from the arms of another medieval family, the Wasen family, which also had some possessions in the area. As the species of bird in the original family arms was not clear, it was decided to use a stork, as there also has been a stork nest in the village for a long time.
