Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 30, 1993.

The fish in a wavy bar is canting, the name means fish-river. The village was the capital of the Amt Fischbach of the State of Fulda and used a seal with a fish above a small hill. This is symbolised by the green hill in the base of the shield.
