Wappen von Gersthofen

Official blazon

Gespalten von Rot und Silber, belegt mit einem Kammrad in verwechselten Farben; darunter ein durchgehender blauer Wellenbalken.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on March 10, 1937.

The wheel symbolises the industry in the town, which has grown rapidly in the early 20th century. The wavy bar in the base of the shield symbolises the Lech river that runs through the municipality.
Gersthofen was a longtime possession of the city ofAugsburg, and the colours silver and red are those of the city.
