German heraldry:

Selected collector's items from Germany:

HÖCHSTENBACH

State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Westerwaldkreis (until 1974 Oberwesterwaldkreis)
Verbandsgemeinde : Verbandsgemeinde Hachenburg

Wappen von Höchstenbach
Official blazon
German

In gespaltenem Schild vorn in Silber einen grünen rot bezungten Drachen, durchbohrt von einem roten, spitz zulaufenden Kreuz; hinten in Rot einen herschauenden blau bewehrten goldenen Löwen

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1958.

The right half shows the cross of the State of Trier, to which the village historically belonged. The dragon is the symbol of St. George, the local patron saint. The lion is taken from the arms of the Counts of Sayn, who played a mayor role in the local history.

The arms are based on the seal of the village from 1555.
