Origin/meaning

The arms show a rather strange-looking stone building in the village, which was erected in the first half of the 18th century by Gottfried von Arnu, Abbot of the Derneburg Abbey. The Abbey received yearly a tax (Zehnte) on grain, lands and meat from the village and the building was used as a warehouse.
