Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 4, 1954.

The hares are a canting element (Hase) and three hares refer to a local song and were also seen on the local fountain. The two roses are taken from the arms of the Counts von Wertheim, as the village was a possession of the counts from the 13th century until 1556. Their arms were still seen on the local seal in 1730.
