Origin/meaning

Herrenberg received city rights around 1260 from the Counts of Tübingen-Herrenberg, later the Counts of Herrenberg. The oldest seals of the city date from 1278 and, as do all later seals and arms, show the banner of the Counts of Tübingen. The only difference with the arms of Tübingen is that the colours are changed. The arms thus have not changed since.
