German	(old) In Blau ein silberner Schrägrechtsbach, beiderseits begleitet von je einem goldenen Zinnenturm mit offenem Tor. (new) In Blau über silbernem Wellenbalken ein goldener mit fünf Zinnen gekrönter Turm mit offenem Tor.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 25, 1969, the previous arms (see below) were granted on January 31, 1964.

The arms show Hinter Aa, a small river. The previous arms showed the two castles which stood in Hinte in the 12-13th centuries. The Westerburg was destroyed in 1436, the Osterburg still exists. In the present arms only one castle, as the center of the new municipality is shown.
