Origin/meaning
The arms show the black bars taken from the arms of the Von Kitzscher family, known from a seal of Richard von Kitzscher from 1440. The other half shows St. Nicholas, the local patron saint.
Postal cancellation 2006 |
The previous arms were granted on September 24, 1975.
The arms show the importance of industry and agriculture for the town. The colours were derived from the arms of the German Democratic Republic.
