Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 15, 1956.

The upper half shows the ibex, taken from the arms of the Lords von Steinberg, to whom the village belonged for many centuries. The base shows an oak tree, symbol for the importance of forestry in the Mandelbecker Forest in the village.
