====Official blazon:====Über Schildfuß mit den bayerischen Rauten gespalten; vorne in Gold ein halber, rot bewehrter schwarzer Adler am Spalt; hinten fünfmal schräg geteilt von Rot und Silber.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on November 28, 1963.
The upper part shows the arms of the city of Nürnberg as the main part of the district belonged to Nürnberg since 1505. The lower part shows the arms of Bayern.
