Wappen von Mömbris/Arms (crest) of Mömbris
Official blazon
German In Rot ein senkrecht gestelltes silbernes Schwert mit goldenem Griff, beseitet links von einem sechsspeichigen silbernen Rad, rechts von einer goldenen Laubkrone.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 9, 1961.

The area of Freigericht Mömbris was until 1500 part of the Royal Estates, which is symbolised by the Royal Crown. Since 1500 the area became gradually part of the State of Mainz, which is symbolised by the wheel of Mainz. As the Freigericht (free-justice area) had its own court prior to 1500, the sword of justice was added as a typical symbol.
