MÜHLBACH

State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Kusel
Incorporated into : 1970 Altenglan

Wappen von Mühlbach (Altenglan)

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 20, 1968.

The arms show a blue lion, which is taken from the arms of the Counts of Veldenz, to which the village historically belonged. Later the village bacame part of Pfalz-Zweibrücken, Pfalz-Veldenz and Kurpfalz. The blue wavy bend symbolises the Mühlbach river. The three blue stars are taken from the seal of the Reichenbach court, which had the jurisdiction over Mühlbach for many centuries.
