Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 23, 1959.

The deer antlers refer to the nature in the municipality. The black cross refers to the State of Köln, to which the area belomged. The blue and silver are taken from the arms of the County Arnsberg, whereas the base refers to the Hennesee lake.
