In Blau ein schrägliegender, mit dem abwärtsgewendeten Bart nach oben gekehrter silberner Schlüssel.

Origin/meaning

The oldest seal of the city is known since the 15^th century, even though a seal is mentioned in 1235. This seal and all later seals until the 18^th century show St. Peter, the patron saint of the town. The present arms were granted in 1845 and show only the key, the symbol of St. Peter.
