State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Tirschenreuth
Additions : 1971 Wernersreuth; 1972 Ottengrün

Wappen von Neualbenreuth

Official blazon

Geteilt von Silber und Rot; oben ein geflügelter roter Drache, unten ein aus schräg gekreuzten silbernen Leisten gebildetes Gitter.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted On October 3, 1930.

The lower part of the arms is derived from the arms of the city of Eger, who used the same grit-pattern. Neualbenreuth historically belonged to Eger. The dragon in the upper part is taken from the arms of the Counts of Cham-Vohburg. These had founded the monastery of Waldsassen, which owned a large part of the village Neualbenreuth until the early 19th century.
