German heraldry:

Selected collector's items from Germany:

NIEDALTDORF

State : Saarland
District (Kreis) : Saarlouis
Incorporated into : 1974 Rehlingen-Siersburg

Wappen von Niedaltdorf

Official blazon

  • (de) Über silbernem Wellenschildfuß in Rot drei gestürzte goldene Spitzen, oben belegt mit je einem gestümmelten roten Adler.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 15, 1966.

The arms symbolise the famous caves with stalagmites and stalagtites in the municipality. The base refers to the Nied river and the eagles are taken from the arms of Lorraine, to which the area historically belonged.
