OBERERBACH

State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Altenkirchen Verbandsgemeinde : Verbandsgemeinde Altenkirchen-Flammersfeld (until 2020 Verbandsgemeinde Altenkirchen (Westerwald))

Wappen von Obererbach (Westerwald)/Arms (crest) of Obererbach (Westerwald)
Official blazon
German

In Gold eine gestürzte rote Spitze, bedeckt mit einem Adler in verwechselten Farben.

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 21, 1995.

The eagle is taken from the arms of the Lords von Koberstein, who built their castle in the village in the middle of the 14th century. The gold and red refer to the Counts of Sayn, later lords of the village. The division of the shield into three parts refers to the three villages in the municipality.
