Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 9, 1997.

The upper half shows the arms of the Counts of Weimar-Orlamünde, who had an estate in the area. The grapes are the symbol of St. Wigbert. the local patron saint. The rooster is taken from the 19th century village seal.

Literature: Ulle, 2011
