Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1959.

The star is taken from the oldest known seal of the local council, dating from the 16^th century. The horn of plenty was taken from a figure on the local castle gate.

In 1956 only the star was proposed as arms for the village, but the council wanted to add another local symbol:
