Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on February 14, 1952.

The lion is taken from the arms of the Dukes of Pfalz-Zweibrücken, who ruled the area until 1793. The crosier refers to the Hornbach Abbey, which had many possessions in the village in medieval times. The helmet refers to the medieval knights who had their estate in the village, but of which no arms are known.
