German heraldry:

Selected collector's items from Germany:

SILKERODE

State : Thüringen
District (Kreis) : Eichsfeld
Incorporated into : 2011 Sonnenstein

Wappen von Silkerode

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 9, 1994.

The chief, with the wavy bar, symbolises the Silke stream, which runs through the municipality and which is also a canting element.

The oak leaf symbolises the many oak forests in the area. The hook is derived from the arms of the Von Minnigerode family, who had many possessions in the municipality for several centuries.
