Selected collector's items from Germany:

SULZBACH AM TAUNUS

State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Main-Taunus Kreis

Wappen von Sulzbach (Taunus)

Official blazon

  • (de) In Rot ein goldenes Sporenrädlein mit Bügel.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1953.

The origin of and meaning of the arms is not known. The symbol appeared for the first time in 1725 on the borderstones of the village. In the 19th century the symbol appeared also in the local seal. In the present arms the symbol was slightly changed and referred to as a spur.

The spur probably was used as a symbol for the free Imperial status of Sulzbach at the time.
