Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1995.

The windmill is the typical landmark of the village, the only one of three former windmills in the area. The base refers to the Botseberg hill, remains of a Slavic fortress. The wavy bar refers to the Mühlensee-lake.

The plough and horseshoe refer to the villages of Karlsruh and Koppehof respectively. The small shield shows the arms of the Von Bredow family, former lords of the village.
