French | De gueules à un lion d'or armé, lampassé et couronné d'azur, accompagné en chef d'un lambel à 3 pendants du même. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on July 21, 1923.
The arms are based on an image on a document from 1629. In the document the arms are described and an image is shown. The document mentions Robert du Chasetel de la Howarderie acting for the Lords of Boussoit at the time, The Lords of Berlaymont. The origin of the lion, however, is not known. The Estate of Boussoit has been in the possession of many different families, and it may be that the lion is derived from some family arms.
