Dutch | Van lazuur, beladen met een egge, verzeld van een hooivork en een rijf, en chef en oog en en pointe een ploeg, alles van goud. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on February 24, 1818.
The arms simply refer to agriculture and show agricultural tools. The arms have no historical meaning and were designed for the small agricultural village in 1818. The colours are the Dutch national colours (in 1818 the municipality did not provide colours in the application), which were retained after the Belgian independence.
The arms also show in chief an eye, probably a symbol for God protecting agriculture.
