FREIENDIEZ

State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Rhein-Lahn Kreis (until 1969 Unterlahnkreis)
Incorporated into: 1938 Diez

Wappen von Freiendiez/Arms (crest) of Freiendiez
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were proposed in 1956 but were never adopted as far as I know.

The arms were based on the local seal dating from 1816. The colours were chosen arbitrarily. The chapel is the local St. Margaret chapel. The lamb in the base symbolises the historical sheep farming in the region.
