Origin/meaning
The arms were designed in 1950 and showed symbols for mining, forest/nature, agriculture and viticulture. The wavy bend symbolises the Elbe river. The colours were taken from the arms of the Counts of Meissen and city of Dresden. The arms were abolished in 1952.
