Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on December 3, 1982.
The arms combine the arms of the former States to which the area belonged; the cross of the State of Speyer and the lion of the Pfalz. The grapes symbolize the importance of viticulture in the region. The bordure is the common symbol for a Samtgemeinde.
