Von Rot und Silber geteilt. Oben miteinander gekreuzt eine Sense und ein Dreschflegel mit goldenen Holzund silbernen Metallteilen, unten an der Teilungslinie ein unterhalbes schwarzes Zahnrad. Origin/meaningThe arms were granted on October 23, 1934. The arms symbolise both agriculture and industry. The area was totally dependent on agriculture until 1827, when the Carlshütte factory was established. Ever since the town has developed into a major industrial centre in Schleswig-Holstein.
