Origin/meaning

The arms show the small arms of the counts of Meissen with St. Mary as supporter. The Counts of Meissen acquired in the 14^th century the castle and village of Lobeda. The oldest known seal dates from the late 14^th century and already shows the same composition, as did all later seals.
