Origin/meaning

The arms were never officially granted, but were used since the 17th century.

The arms show a canting hazel-leaf (Hasel=hazel). The name means hazel-field and until the 19th century hazel trees were common in the area.

The leaf can be seen on the local seals from 1599 until 1834.
