Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on April 8, 1976.

The key in the upper part is a canting element for the village of Schlüsselau in the municipality (Schlüssel=key). the key was also used in the seals of the local Cistercian Convent, which existed in the village from 1260 until the Reformation. The lower part shows a wolfstrap, which is taken from the arms of the Von Stadion family. The local parish was founded by Georg Heinrich von Stadion in 1702. The two fields are divided by a pilgrim's staff, the symbol of St. Jacob, the local patron saint.
