VELDEN AN DER VILS
State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Landshut (until 1973 Vilsbiburg)
Additions : 1972 Babing; 1976 Ruprechtsberg; 1978 Eberspoint and parts of : Felizenzell, Holzhausen, Vilslern, Neufraunhofen
German | Unter Schildhaupt mit den bayerischen Rauten gespalten von Gold und Silber, darauf schräg gekreuzt ein roter Schlüssel und ein grüner Schlüssel mit kleeblattförmigem Bart.
Origin/meaningThe arms were officially granted on March 10, 1516 by Duke Ludwig X of Bayern. The chief shows the arms of Bayern. The two keys are the symbol of the State of Regensburg, to which the area belonged until 1438. The shape of the green key is unusual, but has no special meaning. The arms remained unchanged since.
