Origin/meaning

The arms show two typical prehistoric buildings, indicating a longtime history of the area. The prehistorical earth house was found in the district Kakerbeck and the earth oven was typical of the region Ahlerstedt. The silver flames in the oven opening are intended to symbolize the eight villages and hamlets in the municipality.
