Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 31, 1998.

The wavy bar is a canting element, the name means 'wide-stream'. The upper half shows a crosier and sword, symbols of the local patron saints, Margarete and Cornelius. The base shows the wheel of the State of Mainz, wo which the village historically belonged. The wheel also refers to the many local tradesmen and merchants.
