Origin/meaning
The arms were adopted in 1995.
The bell refers to the Zinna Abbey, which founded a monastery and the village in medieval times. According to legend a large bell has been lost in one of the lakes near the village. These lakes are symbolised by the blue colour.
The upper half represents oak piles of which part of the monastery was built in the Baberow-lake. The shape of t he bue field resembles a cap (which refers to the name, which may be derived from a word for a type of monk's-cap).
