Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on May 27, 1982.
The chief refers to the Ramstein Castle, a possession of the Archbishops of Trier. The red and silver are also the colours of the State of Trier. The lower half shows the village sign, seen on borderstones in the municipality. It is probably derived from a combination of a crosier and a cross. The other half refers to the former importance of sandstone mining in the municipality.
