German | In Blau eine silberne schwebende Eiche über einem silbernen Wellenbalken. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on December 4, 1962.
The arms refer to the 800 years old oak tree ('Dicke Eiche'), which was the landmark of the village until it burnt down in 1923. The wavy bar refers to the Ruhr, Wanne and Kettlerbach rivers in the municipality.
The colours are those of the Arnsberg County, to which the area historically belonged.
