Official blazon
German Geteilt von Rot und Silber; oben wachsend ein goldbewährter, silberner Adler, die Flügel mit goldenen Kleestängeln belegt.

The arms were granted in 1925 and showed in the upper half the eagle of Brandenburg and in the lower a red field. The arms were abolished in 1945.

Coat of arms (crest) of Oberbarnim

From 1947-52 the district used the arms shown above. The silver and red field of the old arms were now quartered. The fish in the lower left corner symbolise the fisheries and nature in the Oderbruch. The meaning of the small shield I do not know. The wheat ears symbolise the importance of agriculture.
