Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on ?.

The fortress on a hill refers to a former Bronze Age fortification close to the village. The wall was still used in medieval times and a fortress was still mentioned in 1140.

The two rivers are the Oder and the Stolzenhagener Mühlenfliess in the municipality and their importance for the local development. The bee refers to the former importance of beekeeping for the village.
